I know of two places in the world named for Hingerty:

Hingerty Place was named for William Kevin (Bill) Hingerty.

He was the grandson of the immigrant John Hingerty (1813 Tipperary- 1889 Temora NSW) and Isabella McDonald (1826 Oban, Scotland-1913 Temora NSW).

Bill was born in 1906 in Temora, New South Wales.

Bill was a returned WWII soldier. He had served 15 months in hygienic work with the army in Alice Springs.

He was appointed Health Inspector to St Mary's Council in July 1946.

He went on to become Penrith Council’s Chief Building & Health Inspector after the amalgamation of St Mary's & Penrith Council until he retired in 1971.

Bill died in 1995 leaving behind a wife and five daughters.

Hingerty Place was not the first location that the Council had earmarked to honour Bill Hingerty.

Coachmans Park 1976?

The park which eventually became "Coachman's Park" was originally named "Hingerty Park". The more historical name was given by the Geographical Names Board in 1976.

A FaceBook article details the history of the park: LINK

Bill was also active in the local community outside of his work.

In the early 1950s Bill was a member of a committee aimed at establishing the St Mary's Bowling Club.

The Committee and its work was detailed in the following FaceBook article LINK

Bill is probably in the attached photo- can anyone identify him?

Do you know of any other locations that bear the Hingerty name?
