Are all Hingertys related?

All Hingertys are related or so my father, John William Hingerty (1923-2008) always claimed. In order to test out this theory, in July 2021,  I launched the Hingerty One Name Study A One Name Study aims to research the genealogy and family history of all persons with a given surname- collecting all incidences of the surname and organising surname bearers into family trees. The Hingerty One Name Study aims to: research the origins and history of the surname; locate all recorded incidences of the surname in Ireland and immigrant countries (Australia, USA, England); reconstruct family trees; explore migration, frequency and distribution patters of the surname; conduct a YDNA project to assist family tree reconstruction. The study will be supported by: the Hingerty One Name Study Website  hosted by the Guild of One Name Studies, including a tree of Hingerty name bearers organised into family branches. The 'Other' Hingertys in OZ

John Hingerty of Templemore , Tipperary, Ireland sailed into Sydney on 13th February, 1841 aboard the ship Jane Gifford as an assisted immigrant farm servant. On the shipping record his age is listed as 28 and his parents are listed as "Eliz th" which probably equates to Elizabeth. No birth or baptism records have been found for this John Hingerty in Templemore, Tipperary. In 1845 John married Isabella McDonald at Goulburn, New South Wales and they went on to have ten children founding a Hingerty dynasty in Australia. John died at Rosegreen, Temora, NSW in 1889.  I am a descendant of John Hingerty and Isabella McDonald. 1909 Family gathering after (grandson of John Hingerty) Fr Thomas Hilly's ordination and return from Rome. John Hingerty of Templemore was not however the only Hingerty to arrive on Australian shores.
