R-FTB79413- The USA Hingerty Haplogroup!

The USA Hingerty Haplogroup!

Recently 'WH' of the USA tested with the BigY700 YDNA test at FTDNA and his results are in!

.... and, because of his test, we have a new branch on the Tree of All Mankind that represents the descendants of Thomas Rice Hingerty born in 1864 in the USA.

How exciting is that!

And....(drum roll please)....we are one step closer to identifying (and therefore being able to estimate a date for) the shared direct male ancestor of all Hingertys alive in the world today!

The Hingerty YDNA Tree now looks like this:

Hingerty YDNA Tree August 2022

Note: You may have noted changes in the date predictions from my previous  post on this topic. As more men test generally on BigY700, and as more Hingerty men test, the time estimates are refined- a YDNA test is the test that keeps giving as FTDNA constantly refine results as more tests are taken.

The 'Holy Grail' is to identify the SNP Variant/Haplogroup for the men:

*  John ? (Australian Hingerty ancestor),
* William 1765 (USA Hingerty ancestor) and
* D? or J? 1790? (Stafford and Ireland Hingerty ancestor)

and thus to be able to estimate the approximate birth year of "Father Hingerty"  and the relationships between all of them.

Then we can work out how all Hingertys alive in the world today are related. What a happy day that will be!

To get there we need more testers...........

* A direct male descendant of John Alexander Hingerty 1864 (Australia)

* A direct male descendant of either Alfred Delaney or Charles Demetrius Hingerty (USA)

* A direct male descendant of Michael Richard Hingerty 1850 (Stafford)

* A direct male descendant of Thomas Hingerty 1889 (Ireland)

As there are only about 120 Hingerty name bearers in the world.... and not all of them are males..... our pool of testers is very small.... so if you are a Hingerty male, please consider volunteering to test.......

To volunteer (or ask any questions), simply contact me and, if you are happy to test, I will arrange for the test to be ordered, paid for and delivered to your door.

All you need to do is to take a cheek swab and post it to the lab in the packaging provided.

It's as simple as that..... it will only take a few minutes from your busy day and you will be contributing greatly to Hingerty family research and making this passionate (obsessive?) Hingerty researcher very happy and forever grateful!

(As luck would have it, there is a sale on at FTDNA until August 31st.... so now is a good time to test!)
